What we do for peppers

High-level quality control, sorting and phenotyping

Peppers place high demands on visual quality. Gearbox offers solutions that support and improve this work:

  • Assessing: using vision + AI, we check colour, size, damage and more – fully automated.

  • Sorting: our systems ensure consistent sorting by quality and grade.

  • Phenotyping: for breeders, we provide accurate data on characteristics such as fruit shape, colour gradient and skin defects.

We are now making considerable savings on the total number of sorting hours. This is mainly due to the fact that we no longer need people on the sorting belt. Previously, we had 6 to 12 employees working there; now we no longer need anyone there.
