# Gearbox enters into a partnership with Gerbera Tech Collective

Fifteen gerbera growers are joining forces in the new Gerbera Tech Collective co-operative. Their aim: to accelerate automation in gerbera cultivation. Gearbox has been invited to work with them in the processing area.

### Stronger together

Labour is getting more expensive and good people are hard to find. At the same time, it is almost impossible for a single grower to have new technology developed on their own. That is why fifteen Dutch gerbera growers, together covering around 115 hectares, founded the cooperative Gerbera Tech Collective in early September. By sharing knowledge, costs and hands-on experience, they can develop solutions the whole sector benefits from.

### From insight to automation

The cooperative’s board has signed a partnership agreement with Gearbox. Our smart cameras with Vision AI are already providing more and more insight into the impact of data on cultivation. This partnership builds on that with the next step: automatic singulation, followed by automatic insertion of gerberas in the processing area.

### Developed in practice

The growers contribute their practical knowledge, make their businesses available for testing and take a critical look at whether the solutions fit their daily work. Gearbox takes care of the technology. Florpartners guides the process. Together we are building solutions that really work in the packing shed, and a gerbera sector that is ready for the future.
