We are delighted to announce that Gearbox has been featured in the trade journal "Aandrijven en Besturen" (Drive and Control). Our collaboration with Karsten Europe, a company that distributes fresh fruit, has resulted in a vision/AI system that significantly speeds up grape inspection. Using advanced hardware and software, as well as Festo's Simplified Motion Series, the grapes are inspected and sorted by quality fully automatically. A simple electrical automation solution was deliberately chosen because it ensures accurate and reliable operation without the use of compressed air. With our expertise in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, vision, robotics and AI, we have developed a compact machine that has been seamlessly integrated into Karsten Europe's existing production line.
